Alan Johnson, Cycling Coach

Alan Johnson is an expert mountain biker and has 50+ years of racing experience. He started and managed the Richardson Bike Mart Matrix Cycling Club Junior Race Team, taking junior racers around the country to race in USA Cycling Road and Mountain Bike National qualifiers and National competitions. He has a long history in competitive sports including: skateboarding, motorcycle racing, and motocross. After having knee surgery in the late 90s, Johnson shifted his focus to racing mountain bikes. Some of his wins include: the Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association (TMBRA) Beginner Men in 1999; TMBRA Sport Men Series on 2001; Nightrider 24-Hours Rocky Hill 4-man Team in 2002. Between 2002 and 2007 Johnson raced Expert and finished every TMBRA in the Top ten. Johnson also taught beginner race clinics for Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association (DORBA) from 2002 to 2007. 
Richard Wharton, Cycling Coach

Richard Wharton has been coaching athletes since 1994, launching the cycling careers of several young elite athletes. He is the owner and head coach of The Cycling Center of Dallas, where he does year round performance training. Coach Wharton’s experience includes an internship at Tailwind Sports, the management corporation for the US Postal Service Professional Cycling Team, and his studies at the Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research. He relocated to Dallas, Texas, in 1999 to pursue an M.B.A. in Sport Management and to become the Director of Development at the Superdrome cycling facility in Frisco, Texas. He is also the author of Watts per Kilogram, a book about training with the CompuTrainer indoor Ergometer. Richard believes success is the inner perspective of accomplishment. He strives to teach athletes how to channel their training with the extensive use of technology and direct/frequent communication. His certifications include: USA Cycling Elite Coach, ACSM Health Fitness Instructor. 
Todd Codish, Triathlon Coach

Todd is one of the most experienced endurance sport coaches in the country. He has been involved as an athlete/coach since 1988 and balances personal experience, professional certifications/education, research and cutting edge technologies to maximize an athlete’s potential. Todd has coached over 1,300 athletes in a range of sports including marathons, Olympic, Half and Ironman distance triathlons. In 2004 Todd created Texas Triple Threat Racing designed to train specific strengths and weaknesses of athletes. Todd’s strengths include the ability to build confidence and rapport with his athletes allowing him to read and respond to individual needs resulting in the motivation needed to perform. His certifications include: Cooper Center Professional Fitness Specialist.
Steen Rose, Multi-sport Coach

Steen Rose is the owner and Head Coach of Athletes On Track and an Elite Coach for Training Bible Coaching. He has been competing in cycling and multisport events for 16 years and coaching for 11 years. His two passions are teaching and endurance sports, so coaching is a natural fit. He combines extensive racing experience with proven, scientific training methods, and an intense desire to help athletes reach their goals. He is a professional, full-time coach licensed by both USA Cycling and USA Triathlon. Steen works with all ages and abilities of athletes locally, nationally, and abroad. David Bertrand, Director of Sports Performance Leadership at SMU

David Bertrand serves as the Director of the Sport Performance Leadership program in the Applied Physiology & Wellness Department at SMU. His training, racing, and coaching experiences span more than a decade.

David has presented at the USA Triathlon's International Art & Science Symposium and NSCA's Endurance Clinic, where he has shared the stage with Joe Friel, Jeff Galloway, Bobby McGee, Carwyn Sharp, and others. He was also sought out to present at multiple USA Triathlon Level 1 and Level 2 certification clinics, as well as co-lead the first-ever Coaching Business Innovation Retreat which was aimed at up-skilling endurance coaches in entrepreneurial and program development skills.
Kristen Codish, Triathlon Coach & Swim Instructor

Kristen Codish has been swimming for more than 30 years, and has been a USA Triathlon Level I Coach since 2006. She specializes in swim instruction, and is currently the swim pro for The Country Place sports camp and a coach of the Prestonwood Christian Academy swim team. Kristen has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Purdue, where she also played water polo, and she is now pursuing her Doctorate in Kinesiology at Texas Woman’s University. In addition to her experience as a swimmer, Kristen also competes in triathlons, and participates in adventure racing, mountain biking, running, and anything else that someone challenges her to. She loves sharing her passion, helping people set goals, and teaching them to sharpen their skills to achieve their dreams.
